Good to know
How much does a private chef cost in London in 2026?
Our tasting menus with service at your home or venue cost £60 (Essential), £80 (Signature) or £100 (Premium) per person. Harper Privée, a private dinner for two, is £250. Weddings and big celebrations start from £25 pp, birthdays from £35 pp, and corporate sessions from £120 pp plus VAT.
Is a private chef cheaper than a restaurant?
For a group of eight, usually yes once you count service charge, wine mark-up and a private room minimum. A tasting menu in central London is £120 to £200 pp before drinks. At home you bring your own wine and nobody adds 12.5%.
What is not included in the per-person price?
Drinks, additional staff (chef £150, bartender £130, waiter £100, kitchen porter £80, per person), hire of plates or glassware, and travel outside London. Each is quoted separately on the proposal. All prices are subject to change.
Do you charge a booking fee or commission?
No. Marketplaces add around 20% on top of the chef's price. You book directly with Hemi, so you pay the chef.
